My Collection

i've been collecting pendragon and other dj machale books for around 5 years now. currently, there are 135 pieces in my collection.
This article may contain an excessive amount of intricate detail that may interest only a particular audience.
this page is very self indulgent and infodump-y! feel free to just look at the pictures if you want :3

the first shelf here has all ten books in hardcover, and the first seven in paperback. as far as i know, the last three books were never published in paperback with this spine design (see next shelf) so i consider this section to be complete!

here's all of the new covers (listed as english version 2 on the cover gallery) and after that, what i call "alt spines" or "weird spines." i love these spine designs! i've managed to find all of them except TQG and TSOH. alt spine TSOH is something i've only seen once in a picture, and i've never seen alt spine TQG, but i have to assume it exists. if you want to know what the most coveted books for my collection are, they are alt spine TQG and TSOH!!!

also, there's a few differences in the cover design on normal and alt spine books, but i didn't include it in the cover gallery since they use the same art. here's a little guide if you're interested.

next i have the english version 3 covers and i don't have a fun short name for these ones. i don't have the weird TPOR that i grouped with these on the cover gallery (this one) and i'm honestly not sure it exists physically but if it does i want it. then i have BTW not much to say about that so now we can get into the really fun stuff!!

i have a few of the books in other languages! even though i am very interested in other languages of pendragon (as evidenced by the existence of the cover gallery at all), i haven't let myself really start collecting them (mostly because i need to buy another bookshelf first lol). i love all of the ones i have a lot so here's a look at them individually:

japanese merchant of death! and without the dust jacket because it's so pretty!

german merchant of death my absolute favorite cover art hence why i got it signed :3

the vietnamese books have these wonderful space and landscape backgrounds inside of the books but i only have tlcof so just look at these ones. one day i'll get the rest of them

one of my favorite oddities in my collection is this french tlcof with no text on the cover. i think a few more of these logoless french variants exist but i don't know why or how to find them

i bought this french tmod to get a closer look at the mysterious sticker on the front but i didn't glean any information from it. if anyone knows about appelle bobby contact me immediately

this is both books 3 and 4 in one and in german

i have 2 pendragon ARCs, one of which has alternate cover art! here is a blog post i made about this book and cover art :)

next i have the first seven audiobooks on cassette, and like with the paperbacks i'm pretty certain they only made cassettes for the first seven. since TQG audiobook was 2006 i suppose cassettes were already out of style and they decided the last few weren't worth it. but i really like having this complete collection of cassettes in their boxes i think they look really good on the shelf :D and next to that there's a few of the books on cd i've picked up randomly over the years but collecting the audiobooks isn't my priority right now (mostly because i don't know as much about the variations in packaging the cds as i do about cover designs)

the bottom shelf of this bookshelf is for other DJM stuff. so first we have some morpheus road books but not quite a complete collection as i still need the first one in hardcover with that newer blue cover art, and probably a version of the blood where i haven't lost the dust jacket lol. for sylo to be complete i just need a hardcover of storm (and maybe a normal paperback of sylo because the one i have is actually an ARC). the library, again featuring a book where i have lost the dust jacket, and another ARC believe it or not! then tower of terror on dvd, all F29D books, and beyond midnight.

closer look at those other two ARCs!

on this shelf i have my prized possession jewel of my collection special edition raven rise !!!! i asked dj machale about this jacket and it was essentially just a promotional material but there were only 1000 made and i loveeee this thing so much. i have this one signed too. also there's the 1-2 and 3-4 compilation books on this shelf but i'm less excited about those. i just thought they looked good enough displayed like this

gaze upon special edition raven rise

the next shelf down has a boxset of the first three books... oftentimes i try to stop myself from buying boxsets because i already have the books and the box is just a box but i want the box (cries). anyway this one was a gift and i probably will cave and buy more boxsets one day.

then i have three of the uk covers because again i need another bookshelf before i let myself buy a whole nother 10 book set

the other books on this shelf are not pendragon or djm but the other book series i really like. it's even more obscure than pendragon but if you want my book recommendation it's neal shusterman and eric elfman's accelerati trilogy. if you read it please talk to me about it

one more quirk of my collection is that i spent many years buying almost every copy of pendragon i came across so i have a lot of extras. somehow it just makes me happy to have a lot of the books even though they're not part of "actual" collection. i have these extras hiding behind the display books on this shelf:

i have a few more books floating around somewhere but whatever. my collection is still growing so check back for updates if you want! thanks for reading! <3
